She loves it, and she is doing an amazing job! She is so smart, and so kind, and such a sweet girl. Her teacher tells us this a lot. Of course she enjoys the social engagement also. She has filled us in on exactly who is cute, who is funny, who gets in trouble a lot, who is quiet, and even who has a mommy that "wears nurse clothes like you!" It turns out that there are a few kids in her class who's parents are friends of ours, which is fun! We've also had an interesting time getting her dressed in the mornings. It seams that it's also a fashion show. She is very particular about what goes together and with what shoes. Oh lord, the shoes!
I have noticed a remarkable change and improvement in her maturity (most of the time), in her discipline and her academic knowledge. She has always been smart, and from what I have observed, "ahead of the game" when it comes to her "ABCs & 123s". She is amazingly more mature and sociable than other kids her age I've been around, but usually acts like a big whiney baby with us. Since starting school and getting such praise for being "big" from other people than her mean 'ol mom, I've really noticed a difference. My favorite thing I've observed so far is that she gets so excited about learning. She LOVES to show me her papers (42 a day) in her folder. When we do her homework, she doesn't want me to tell her how to do it before she does. She will say, "mommy I know, I do it like this...." then she'll make sure I know how she is supposed to do it. She's usually right. She told me last week that she knows how to do it because she is the one in kindergarten, not me! True dat!
Everyday her folder is sent home with finished papers and notes or info for us. In this folder is also her discipline calendar. If she is good and had no "color changes" then there is a star. The color chart is the discipline system. They start at blue and "move to green "then yellow then red if they get in trouble. She has had a star everyday and only had to move to green once because she "put her hands on another student". She hugged Grant, the cute boy. I think I talked about this before so I'll spare you the details. She has collected 6 warm fuzzies so far. Very exciting!
When she gets a star everyday, on Fridays I let her pick a "surprise" for her "Five Star Friday"! Her first time she picked some "fancy jewelry" at WalMart.

She has also chosen a snow cone, a coloring book, and this past Friday she chose some silly string and cheetos. Whatever works.
Here she is doing her homework with mommy...

And eating breakfast at school.. Which she prefers. I ask her every morning if she wants me to make her breakfast and she says "nah, I'll just eat at school mommy".

The lesson for them last week was focussed on apples. I found this adorable recipe for Apple Rice Krispies I thought would be perfect. Aniston did most of the work, and sampling!

I love her concentration face...

Silly girl!

Almost done... Just have to add the leaves.

All finished...

Cute huh... And they were delish! And a big hit!

I couldn't be more pleased with her school, teacher, and accomplishments thus far! We're all loving it & so excited to see what else happens!
