Support Sasha - Prayer Request!

Please pray for Sasha. She is the wife of a guy I grew up with. Visit the blog http://www.supportsasha.blogspot.com/ for details.

[POSTED BY FAMILY]

What happened: We were at their home in Fort Worth having a nice dinner around their outdoor patio table. There was a decorative fire bowl as the center piece which was a topic of conversation because they recently received it and it seemed to be very neat. We were 5 (Jeff, Doug, Ruth, Sasha, Jay) around a rectangular outdoor table. After dinner we were enjoying fun time together talking about future family trips and where we should travel next. The fire in the centerpiece went out, after a few minutes, Jeff went to add the fire gel that came w/ the kit (he had already re-lit the bowl twice that evening) and there was a fire explosion (this was around 10:40pm). The fire ignited Sasha. Once it was extingused, the ambulance was there and she is now at Parkland Hospital in Dallas under the care of the doctors in the ICU Burn Unit. She sustained burns on her face, neck, shoulders and chest, her arms and hands are also badly burned. This is just a quick post to answer the question of what happened. We are all here in Dallas and have a family member with a home that has been graciously opened to us, so we are all able to be together in the evenings. There is a strict visiting schedule and Jeff is able to visit her a few times a day for 30 minutes. I was able to join him on Saturday around 2:00 to see her and her spirits are high for the circumstances. Late yesterday the doctors decided it was best for her care to sedate and put her on a ventilator for a few days. This will allow her body to rest and no longer have labored breathing. What can you do?PRAY! Please get on your knees for our sweet sister in law Sasha. Pray for healing and comfort. Pray for Jeff's strength and peace of mind.We have seen such a beautiful out pour of friends and family in this time of much need, what we need most is your prayers. I will try to keep you updated on Sasha here so if you have questions and I haven't had a chance to call you back, check here for updates. Please PRAY!
