Proud Mom Moment

I have to share a sweet moment I shared with my sweet Ani today. She has become a little obsessed with the cruise ship disaster. She has seen it on the news a few times, and has made several comments about it. This afternoon we were sitting on the couch watching tv and we needed a snack. As I got up to go to the kitchen I heard her comment about the "14 million people that have been hurt by that broken boat"... Because she doesn't know the difference between a hundred and a million, and in her mind they are both "a lot".. I let that massive number slide. As I sat back down beside her, (to her right), she jumped to her knees, then she grabbed my left hand, I quickly sat the bowl of oranges down then she grabbed my right hand. As she closed her eyes and bowed her head.... Are you ready for this.... she said, "mommy, we just have to pray for them. Jesus, please help turn that boat straight so they can find those people and the childrens. And please keep the workers safe and help keep their boats full of air."

I can honestly say I couldn't see anything she did after this because of my tear filled eyes, and I haven't stopped thinking about it since.

Every time my "mommy powers" are running on fumes, and I'm frustrated because I can't seem to give what is needed to make her act like I feel she should, God reminds me that she is just five. "Almost six" as she likes to remind you! He also has me experience moments like this so I can feel that rush of joy and happiness and accomplishment that comes with motherhood. I am so proud of my girl, and her daddy, and her mommy, if I do say so myself!

Thank you God, I hear you loud and clear, and thank you for your support and strength!
