While Losing, and Gaining

As anyone who knows me knows, I am STILL struggling with my weight. Thanks to genetics, lifestyle, habits, children, and mostly laziness and food.. I can't seem to break the cycle. As I posted in my "New Me" post, which you can see here, I'm starting a program.  In the past I have done Weight Watchers, which worked until I quit. I took weight loss pills, which worked until I quit. I've worked out, mostly Zumba.. which worked until I quit. I've also cut calories myself, and increased my water intake... which worked, you guessed it, until I quit. Do you see a pattern?

So, I have really been struggling with my eating lately. I'm always so hungry, which I assume is from breastfeeding. The problem is I like bad stuff that are full of calories. Randy tells me he thinks it's because of the weather. It has been so cold, which makes me want to hibernate and eat. Also, I've had a membership to the Y for two weeks now and haven't gone once. We had a snow storm, I worked, and now I have no vehicle to drive. My tire, which is brand new, is flat. Excuses, Excuses!

So, this time, the final time in my life to lose weight.. because I'll just keep it off, here is my program:

1. Diet Monitoring: I will count calories. I am going to combine some methods from the past. I like some of the recipes from Weight Watchers (see the chicken crock pot recipe below). I also like the free website loseit.com. It is easy to use, it has an iPhone app, and it even sends you reminders, which I need!

2. Exercise: I will work out. I really will. I enjoy it. I will start out doing the Zumba and Yoga classes. I also have the Zumba for Wii and the Biggest Loser Challenge I will do at home.
My goal is to do something, five days a week. I love to take the girls to Sikes Lake and walk/run. I really want to do a 5K. I know it is a big goal, but I just think it would be cool. I'm also about to start coaching volleyball in March, so I'll be more active with them!

Zumba makes me smile, so that's easy! If you haven't tried it, you should! It's awesome!

3. Made to Crave: I will read, and pray. I have been reading this book, and it's awesome. I have to admit, I'm on chapter 4, for the second time. I started the book over again so I could soak it all in. The subject is interesting, and kind of daunting at first. She teaches that if you look to God instead of your vice, such as food, you will lose weight. Pray your way through it. You can see the website about the book here.

"Satisfy your deepest desire with God, not Food".

4. Journal/Blog: I like to vent. I find if I blog about it, there is less frustration, whining, and crying. Plus, although he is very understanding and comforting, I'm sure the hubs doesn't want to hear about it all the time. And, if I can be of any help to anyone with my adventure, that would be awesome. I'm going to start a new blog for my weight loss program.
I've named it, "While Losing, and Gaining". Because, after all, through this journey I hope to lose weight and gain lots. Self esteem, a healthy life style, and let's be honest.. a killer body!

Please follow my new blog. Also, add any comments or advice if you will. I'm always looking for new recipes and ideas!
I'm also following a blog, Fat Mama Slim.. Again! It's a friend's blog, and she also posts a lot of great things! (the crock pot recipe is hers)

She also shared these sites...

Love love love it! I have told the girls before that the only time I'm successful at weight loss is if I'm on track spiritually. Its when I stop going to church regularly and stop reading my Bible daily that I waiver in not only weight loss, but everything else too! GOOD LUCK! We can keep each other on track! Check out this blog below too. She really helps me a lot!
