So, the "newest-to-me" thing is Pinterest. Its unbelievable. A few of my friends would post things on FB about it, but I didn't really understand what it was. My cousin Hilleary asked me about it, so we jumped right in...I'm really mad at myself for not thinking of it first! Just like everything else I get interested in, I'm obsessed. I'm constantly thinking of ideas and projects for around the house. I've been doing this for years, and I'm always googling ideas, pictures, DIY projects, and shopping for a good deal. Beyond what my husband thinks, I really don't shop that much. Well, let me rephrase that. I shop a lot, but I don't really BUY that much. I absolutely NEVER buy anything that isn't on sale. I do however go through phases.. in the spring I am obsessed with my yard and garden..(which the heat is killing!) In the fall, I get obsessed with my house. Last year, after we moved in, I was so fat and pregnant that I didn't care. So, literally, besides the nursery.. NOTHING has been done. I have not lifted a SINGLE paintbrush! Those who know me realize how weird this is. Every room in my old house was a different color. I have been feeling overwhelmed though. I just don't know where to start!
I know where I need to start... Aniston's room! Big sister needs a fun Big Girl Room! I have lots of fun ideas, and I'm letting her lead the way. She wants blue walls, and a "cover over her bed like Addison's"..aka.. a funky canopy! We did Landrie's room so beautifully.... (ignore the bad picture)
We owe Aniston a beautiful room. We got this piece from my Dad and Autie and it's perfect for Aniston's room. We're going to paint it with a funky paint treatment.. I'm thinking red distressed with a paper/fabric treatment on the insides. We're gonna put her TV on the top shelf, and fill the bottom shelf with stuffed animals and picture frames. We may even do something funky like hang things from the bottom of the shelf. Who knows?! It will be fun though!
Here's an example of a similar piece... I want to do something similar-ish... maybe red?!
Here is an example of a piece with the inside fancy!?
My main concentration thus far has been collecting furniture.
I have collected these pieces...
This is the first piece I bought. I found it while garage saleing with my BFF Ashley. I almost made her have a wreck when I saw it. It was sitting in the driveway of a house in Country Club. It cost me $30. besides being dreadfully ugly, it is in fantastic shape. It doesn't sag, and its comfortable.
It has great lines!
This next piece is my favorite. It's for the entryway. I found it on Craigslist for $60. I search the DFW Craigslist all the time. Luckily Dad and Autumn were able to go get it for me. The not good thing was that it was a long drive for them, which I didn't realize at the time. Thank goodness they snagged this beauty for me!
The picture is one I bought on clearance at Kirklands when I was in college. I LOVE it. I always have. I'm thinking I'm going to use this as a jumping off point for the formal living room and entry way. It's not as pinky as the picture looks. It's more a redish cranberry color. The darker color in there is a purpley navyish grayish color. I am thinking I might use that color for the formal living room... We'll see. My biggest question for myself is whether I should refinish this piece or leave it the way it is...
Here is a similar piece I like.. not blue, maybe the purpley blueish color?!
Here are a few more pieces I've collected for free. The chair is from a friend at work and the dresser and armoire from my mom.
I have no clue what I'll do, and I have no plan for these last pieces. All I know for sure is they will not be the same shade of brown and they will be pin-tastic once pinterist and I get done with them!!

Not even kidding when I say that is my couch....just different fabric. I swear they're the same. I think you should do something with the entryway table, a distressed paint with fun hardware. Also, blue walls with a red "pop" piece for Aniston's room will be sooooo key-cute! Makes me wish I was in a house right now, I'm so in the decorating mood! Dang Pinterest!
Are you going to try to redo the couch yourself or slipcovers or what?
