We have struggled with getting Aniston to sleep in her bed since moving to our new house. It started out because she didn't have a bed for the first week or so because it was being painted. Then, once we got her bed, it was scary because she was all by herself "waaaaaay in that part of the house". Honestly, it bothered me too because we can't hear her in our rood "waaaaaay in that part of the house". We were used to being so close in our itty bitty house before. Originally I made my personal goal to have her out of our bed by the time Landrie made her arrival. Then, I quickly realized that would be too much of a shock to her system if we kicked her out BECAUSE of Landrie. So, she spent about a week in our bed with Landrie in her bassinet beside the bed. She would sleep through most of Landrie waking up, but it was still annoying having her in bed with us because it was a little crowded. So, after the first week of all four of us in the room, I decided to make the "move". And, to our shock, it was easy breasy! I have been praying for strength. Honesty, for both of us.. Aniston and her momma.
I have always been a "my kids will never sleep with me" momma. And, Aniston never did, until July, unless she was sick. I have to be truthful and say that I liked it, mostly. I liked being able to check on her a million times a night. I liked being able to kiss her cheek or wipe her hair out of her face anytime I woke up. I also liked to cuddle with her as she fell asleep and woke up. Now, we quickly figured out that it was a little crowded so we fixed "her spot" at the end of the bed, upside down from us. She also figured out very quickly that momma doesn't cuddle. So, she ended up like a band-aid on her daddy, which pushed him all the way to the edge of his side of the bed... which was great for me. Because this was all happening the entire time I was pregnant.. it was interesting. Now that she is sleeping in her bed, all night, I don't miss it!
The first week, she started off in there at all hours and it took a little negotiating the first couple of nights. I let her daddy do the negotiating because I'm not real good at that part. So, they worked out a deal, or should I say, she broke him down until he agreed that the deal included a cup of milk, Nick Jr on low, and bubba sleeping at the end of her bed with her. All of which I don't approve of, but whatever. Pick your battles, right!? I don't like her to drink milk before bed because it's bad for her teeth, I hate for her to watch TV before bed, I'd rather her read a book, and bubba gets her sheets dirty and all "dog hairy" and stinky.. but, whatever. That was last week, because last night I put my foot down. Bubba was on the floor on a blanket beside her bed. She still had milk and Nick Jr. on low, but "there is always tonight... or next week", says pushover.. I mean Daddy!
Here is a sweet picture of her I took yesterday morning... All snuggled up with her "Red Blankie"!

Glad to know that we aren't the only one with bedtime problems.... I am hoping Kindergarten and no naps help us next year! :) Miss you. Can't wait to hold that precious baby!
