Reaching Out

Hi Friends and Family,

I need your help. A friend, and coworker, Christi, just came back from maternity leave from having her baby. Here is her story...

Her baby girl, Izadora, was born 8 weeks premature. She spent many weeks in the NICU on breathing equipment, feeding tubes, apnea monitors, etc. She is doing remarkably well at home, now. The problems, for Christi are more financial. While she was on her unexpected early maternity leave she learned that her Short Term Disability (the benefit that pays us a percentage of our salary while on leave) would not accept her claim, and basically denied her any compensation. So, this means she didn't get a penny while she was out. She exhausted what vacation time she had. To make a long story short, she needs help and I feel the need to Reach Out and help her and baby Izadora. Her husband and her are working as much as possible, on opposite shifts to keep from paying childcare until they get caught up.

Here is what I'm asking....

If you could please help in any way possible, it would be so greatly appreciated. I am familiar with the stress of being a new mom, but I had a healthy baby and none of this added stress. I can't imagine what she is going through!

We are having a small baby shower for her here at work tonight to help collect some necessities for them, such as diapers, wipes and clothes. If any of you have any extra money, an extra pack of diapers or wipes, or even a gift card for groceries and formula, it would help so much.

If you want to help by sending money, please mail it to me and I'll give it to her. You can also send it via PayPal to britschmidt@live.com with a memo "Baby Izadora".WalMart or Target gift cards are also wonderful.

If you want to help by giving baby necessities, please contact me and I will get them from you. If you are local, I do make house calls!

She is wearing size 0-3 month clothes and size 1 diapers.

You can contact me via email at britschmidt@live.com, call or text me at (940) 632-7321, find me on Facebook here, or you can mail things to 6743 Southwest Parkway, Wichita Falls TX 76310.

Please pass this on to anyone you know that might be able to help in any way.

Thank You,
Britany
