Today, the thing about this season that makes us so happy is giving. I love buying gifts for other people. The hunt of what to get, and the search for that perfect gift is so exhilarating. Today, we shopped for daddy. Aniston and I went to several different stores, and looked. I had an idea of what we would get him, but I let her do the shopping. She decided in the car that we needed to get him three things since there were three of us (Mommy, Aniston and Landrie). So, we looked and looked and she found two things and I found one. I can honestly say that both things she picked were stuff I would have picked for him too. She did great! Knowing him, she could have picked a dorky sweater and he would have loved it!
Thankfully, Aniston is a giver. She loves making gifts for people, and wrapping stuff pretty. She also loves to surprise people and make them happy. She told me today that she was going to wrap daddy's present pretty so that he'll go "ahhh" when he sees it. We ran out of time to get it wrapped today so we hid it really well where he'll NEVER find it!
We also looked around for some ideas for our Mammaw & Pappaw, Minnie & Pops, Nana, Bob, Poppy, Autie, Nanny, PawPaw, Poppa J and KK. I think we've got it all figured out and planned. Actually, I've got everyone but PawPaw (Randy's dad) figured out. I never can decide what he'll like, but Randy will know for sure. He can just buy something for himself and it'll be perfect for his dad. They've got the same taste. Cars and football!
My only problem with gift giving is having a limit. I want to be able to buy for everyone and their mommas. This year, my main focus is on my kids, yes their is an "s" as in 2 kids. I said at one time that that is it.. we're not buying for anyone else, even our parents.."they'll understand". But, Randy didn't agree and as you can see, I can't help myself!
I love this...
Each of you must bring a gift in proportion to the way the LORD your God has blessed you. Deuteronomy 16:17
I hope all of you enjoy this season of giving!
